Counseling Philosophy & Belief Statements

"If you think you can, you can; If you think you can't, think again"Each student is unique and deserving of our attention; we must hear beyond the student's words and actions to what is really being communicated; that we must help the student towards greater self-understanding and self-direction.

We must work closely with the parents in reaching the goal of helping the student become a mature, independent, contributing and responsible individual.

The role of the counselor is to contribute towards helping students to evaluate, assess and understand his or her potential.

Counselors work in a team allowing a cooperative relationship between the middle school staff, students, parents, families and community that will help ensure each student's success.
